Through a focus on bridging the technology gap, addressing technological waste, and providing leadership and mentoring opportunities, Rise Up Academics is committed to investing in our youth and their education.

The Gap in Technology

Leadership & Mentoring

There is a large technological gap experienced in many schools, meaning students may not have the means to obtain the equipment they need to be successful.

This gap can impact students in more ways than one. It contributes to low performance in many students, as students with access to better internet and technology will do better, and face less disadvantages.

Technology in schools allows students to:

Put their skills and knowledge into action
Improves student critical thinking
Creates a more engaging learning environment
Can boost academic achievement
Increase their collaboration

Through allowing students to take part in the repurposing of these machines, we also have the opportunity to help build their leadership skills through mentoring programs with middle and elementary school students.

Technological Waste

Companies and individuals are constantly upgrading their technology to have the latest and greatest on the market, but what happens to the systems when they have lost their usefulness? Most of the time, that laptop ends up in a landfill, maybe recycled. What if we could give it new life?

Through refurbishing these machines, Rise Up Academics plans to help put them into the hands of children in need. This also creates opportunities for Ignite Scholars to learn how to repair these systems through internship.
